Final Fantasy Tactics fans rejoice. During PlayStation's State of Play on June 4th, we were treated to the reveal of an updated version of Final Fantasy Tactics finally coming to modern systems. For those who haven’t been keeping track, it’s been nearly 20 years since Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions was released on the PSP, with the original version released in 1997. It’s a long overdue revival, and I for one am happy to see it.

The new version, named Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles Enhanced Version, will launch on all platforms. Even better is the fact that you won’t have to wait long to play it. The fan-favorite title is slated to release on September 30th this year. You can watch the announcement trailer below.

Hailed as one of gaming’s greatest stories, in this standalone game, players will step into the Kingdom of Ivalice—a medieval world steeped in political conflict—in which players uncover the truth behind the young noble Ramza Beoulve, whose role on history’s stage has been buried from view.
