got so much to talk about. And if you haven't already, go check out our press play gaming newsletter, where we break down the week's biggest gaming news between episodes. Link is in the show notes. It's a quick read and I promise you, it's totally worth it. All right, so this week in gaming, a lot happening. GTA 6 is somehow still the most talked about game on the internet, despite the fact we still can't play it yet.

Forza 6 is almost here, so is 007, and both look incredible. And there's tons of indie games absolutely cooking on Steam right now. We're getting into all of that today. So let's dive in. Okay, GTA 6.

Ty (01:13.966)
How is this the anniversary of GTA 6 showing its second trailer that was promised to be released on the 25th of this month? Just for it to still not be released till the end of the year, maybe.

Gregory (01:31.862)
And you know what's funny? We only have a second trailer. And the first one came out two years ago. And we are only getting a second trailer. Now, a little quick history for those who haven't been keeping up, but I think everyone who's invested in the gaming world has been keeping up with GTX. But just in case, November, 2025 was its original release month. And for those who remember that fateful day,

Ty (01:39.17)
Mm-hmm.

Gregory (02:00.905)
The day before their earnings call is when Take-Two said, ooh, by the way, GTA 6 will be dropping spring of 2026. And that's when everyone was like, what? And by the time we got that information, the earnings call had come and gone, the corporate wheels had been spinning, there was no time for anyone to realize what had transpired.

Ty (02:26.542)
Sound like a Stone Cold chant. What?

Gregory (02:28.149)
Yeah. So here we are, spring, 2026, still no GTA 6. It's been moved back to November again. And we are just days away from another earnings call. So I want to know what you guys think. Are we finally going to get this ever elusive GTA 6 or is history about to repeat itself and Take-Two is about to pull the rug from under us once again?

Ty (02:55.95)
That's gonna be bully two all over again, bro. That's how I'm looking at it. Like, hey, we get it. Y'all been longer waiting for this game. We think that y'all are gonna love this game. We wanna make sure it's perfect. y'all not gonna get it till we're absolutely ready for it. All right, so when are y'all ready to drop this? We don't know, which means you don't know. Whoa. We gotta make sure it makes us money.

Gregory (02:58.267)
man.

Ty (03:22.734)
But the last thing I heard about GTA 6 was they are still trying to figure out if it's gonna be a $70 game, a $80 game, or a $100 game. So far, most of the leaks are saying it's leaning towards that $80, which, damn, but not really surprising. I'd rather it be an $80 game, sad to say.

Gregory (03:33.151)
Mm-hmm.

Gregory (03:46.483)
Yeah.

Ty (03:50.563)
than that original talking point of it being $100 or more no matter what. Right? Because why do I need to give $100 for a game that made literally has the bragging right of saying we made a billion dollars within my first and within our first year or first couple of months whatever it was again. Right? So why do I need to give you $100 for this game? What?

Gregory (03:56.521)
Yeah.

Ty (04:16.974)
cost so much to make, I don't care. Y'all have GTA Online. Y'all got sued for GTA Online for the card chart system. So y'all don't need the money that bad.

Uly (04:29.093)
No, not the game.

Gregory (04:29.374)
And, you know, I think part of it is that that they're afraid to let GTA online go because they would pretty much have to rebuild a whole new system for six. You can't just roll over because what GTA online is like so over decade. So. Yeah, so that's not something they could just roll over in the GTA six, not with the technological advances that they've been bragging about and.

Ty (04:46.892)
Yeah, it came out what, 2013, 2014?

Gregory (04:58.07)
the little bit of showcasing they've done, they would have to rebuild that from the ground up. And unfortunately, if we're going to be completely honest, gamers are going to be expecting that. They gave us GTA Online and that's what people want. Yes, people are going to want the story of GTA 6, but at the end of the day, they're going to want GTA 6 online. And I think Take-Two is scared because they can't deliver on that front yet. I personally think

that they're ready to give the single player maybe cooperative if it has a multiplayer aspect experience, but they're not ready for everyone who isn't into single player that wants, okay, I'm just in it for the online. Where's the online? I think that is probably still months, if not a couple of years away because it took, I wanna say at least a year, maybe two, but I don't think it was that long for our GTA Online after GTA 5 launched.

Ty (05:33.795)
Mm-hmm.

Gregory (05:57.793)
But the grace, yeah, it wasn't immediate.

Ty (05:57.805)
Yeah, it was not immediate.

Uly (05:59.44)
It was a year. It was, it was around a year after and it, you know, it got so popular. The first few months were just got, you can, it was hard to stay online. And then, especially with all the hacks that happen and all the billion dollar rip-offs that you get. Yeah. It's going to happen there. They are going to just like say, all right, GTA five online is still going to be a thing, but we're slowly going to launch GTA six online. Maybe it's going to be.

less than GTA five was at launch, maybe some missions build you up. And then over time start releasing those updates. Like that's how they, that's how they figured it out in GTA online, the four five, like they started off strong, learned it was too much. Then they started rolling in small updates, small updates, a bigger update, a bigger update. And they're like, all right, we know we now have this data here, this base that we know we can start with and then slowly build it up. And by doing it like that,

Ty (06:30.318)
Mm-hmm.

Gregory (06:52.907)
Mm-hmm.

Uly (06:57.275)
going to start up selling the shark cards every small update. like, Hey, we got a yacht now. You need some shark cards. Hey, you know, well, they said they probably won't do the whole super or was it that ultra technology like flying cars and border bikes and all that. So it's going to be like,

Gregory (07:11.733)
Yeah.

Ty (07:12.61)
Yeah, they already said this one should be more grounded because a lot of people complained about the unrealistic aspects of GTA V and GTA Online and also made a mistake. GTA Online came out of two weeks after GTA V. The version that we're thinking about that really blew up was probably like a year later.

Uly (07:32.945)
Was it that long? Damn.

Gregory (07:33.268)
Wow. Wow.

Gregory (07:40.34)
Yeah, when they started fixing things.

Ty (07:42.26)
Yeah, but initially it was like two weeks.

Gregory (07:46.583)
Wow. So they didn't even wait that long. And the other thing that's, you know, a big concern for anyone who's curious, the earnings call is not going to be like gaming news. That's not what it's going to be for. But it's their opener to give us an idea on what their predictions for the rest of the year are. And if they don't think I would say if we don't hear about a cancellation before.

we might be good because that means they're calculating the earnings from GTA 6 sales in November into their earnings. That means they're probably predicting good earnings for the year. If it cancels before, whoo, man, it'll probably be like another year before we ever see that game.

Ty (08:30.862)
I 28, if it cancels before, unfortunately, it's probably going to be 28.

Gregory (08:35.028)
Yeah, I would say a third trailer would also be a a good marker. The fact we saw it got in a third trailer is a pretty good indicator. If we get one before the earnings call, which I believe is May 21st for anyone who's curious, if we see one before then, which the clock is ticking, May 21st is not as far as people think, then I would say chances are high of a CNN in November. If we don't see a trailer.

Uly (08:35.087)
Maybe to sell the 2030. Like really, really put some lemon on it.

Gregory (09:04.682)
then I would say chances are low. They might not cancel again before an earnings call because they've already done that once. So they know people are in pins and needles. So you don't repeat the same mistake twice. So they'll probably wait until after and then say, hey, we got to move it.

Uly (09:16.689)
You gotta wait to see the trailer if the trailer is that the one where they did for GTA 5 where it's the female announcer telling you the new things coming to GTA 5 and introducing the characters same thing what they did with Red Dead Redemption 2 they had that Trailer was like here the new mechanics to the game and things you can do Like if we see that trailer coming out where he explains the game a little bit for us. It's coming out like that's how confident they are but if we get another one where it's like

Ty (09:40.448)
Yeah, we're good.

Gregory (09:42.23)
Yeah.

Uly (09:44.945)
nothing really. It's just more cutscenes and whatnot. You're looking at something bad. Yeah.

Ty (09:50.818)
Yeah, it's just the visual aspect.

Gregory (09:53.227)
Yeah. And my other thought, too, is all the games that are dancing around the dates that GTA keeps landing itself on, they're trying to avoid, you know, sharing a month with GTA. But if GTA isn't released and they keep shifting their dates, that sets that doesn't just screw, you know, GTA fans over. But that screws like the ripples are far away for the gaming industry as a whole, because other games shift their release dates to avoid GTA six because.

Everyone knows, hey, that month, that's what gamers are gonna be going for. That's where their money's gonna be. We don't wanna be in that same month. Even if they don't see them as a competitor, they just see it like, that's just a bad business move.

Uly (10:31.045)
We're going to call it duty Black Ops 10. That month when it's Black Ops 10 month. What are you talking about? six month.

Gregory (10:34.006)
That's cute.

Ty (10:35.725)
No!

Ty (10:40.59)
So I will say this, mentioning that part of it with Black Ops. So people used to do that with COD, where they were like, hey, we don't want to release in October. Let them release in October. We'll be fine. Release November or release in December.

Gregory (10:54.357)
Mm-hmm.

Ty (11:00.806)
That was my theory of why 007, why that didn't release when it was supposed to release in February originally. Like they didn't want to be in the same quarter or like roughly right after that quarter for GTA is what I originally believed. And then they're like, we had technical issues. Let's move it to May. And I remember when GTA was originally like, hey, we're moving to May as well. They were like,

Gregory (11:30.719)
Mm-hmm.

Ty (11:32.14)
this ain't good. Like Pragmata was also in a very similar boat. Pragmata was originally supposed to release last year. Thank you, Capcom. And then they shifted because they were like, we're not releasing this game at the end of the year with that on our ass.

Gregory (11:40.757)
Mm-hmm.

Yep.

Gregory (11:48.8)
Yeah.

Uly (11:48.827)
They would have done great still. think program is one of those games that yeah.

Gregory (11:53.249)
But I think they made a smart move because in the unlikely event GTA 6 had held true and released, it would have been one of those games that while phenomenal would have gotten buried and then it would have been discovered later as like a cult classic. So I think they made the smart decision. It worked out in their favor. Several games have moved. It's working out in their favor. And I don't think gamers are going to become complaining because we're getting a pretty stacked early year and still the rest of the year to go. So but.

What do you guys think? Do you think GTA 6 is going to be coming out this year? Are we going to get a third trailer? Are you still excited for it? If so, sound off in the comments on what your thoughts are. Now, speaking about games that are coming out this month, there is quite the lineup we've got. And I'm not even like that big of a Forza fan, but I got to say Forza Horizon 6 looks really good. And maybe it's because it takes place in Japan.

Uly (12:47.089)
We're excited because it takes place in Japan. But we've just been there!

Gregory (12:52.406)
I was, yeah, you know, I'm not even gonna lie. There's a little bias there.

Ty (12:54.018)
Who's we? I wasn't there.

Uly (12:56.049)
Never mind me and Greg have just been there. I'm gonna drive around Tokyo and just be like, yeah, I mean Greg we're drinking there. We drunkly walked over there

Gregory (12:59.254)
You

Gregory (13:04.682)
Yeah, I'm like, you know, like I don't even really care about the races. Just let me drive through familiar places in Japan and go. I was there. So, you know, that's on the radar. And then as you know, you had mentioned before the first started recording 007. I, I have been very hush hush about 007 and I respect it. I respect it because.

Uly (13:21.797)
Dude. I'm... I'm excited.

Ty (13:24.867)
you

Gregory (13:33.875)
We all want double O fans. We've been itching for a good double O seven game for years. And I don't think there's a better team than I owe to handle it because of hit man. And if you've never played hit man, go play hit man, go play the hit missers. Solid work. I think they're the perfect development team for.

Ty (13:53.624)
Sorry. Sorry, boy.

Gregory (14:02.838)
007 as it's intended because I know people are still riding high on the Daniel Craig error, which was a bit more raw and grounded than the more, cause it was the nineties of Pierce Brosnan. Yeah. so we needed a Daniel Craig ish game that didn't have to be Daniel Craig. That way we didn't feel pigeonholed to the Daniel Craig movie storyline. So this allows us the freedom of

Ty (14:16.526)
while I've been sophisticated of Pierce Brosnan.

Gregory (14:32.97)
bond without all the guardrails in place because of movie licenses and actor likeness because you know in the games they can't do certain things because those certain things weren't tied to the movies and the movie licenses are like nope he can't do that because he wouldn't do that in the movie and yada yada yada we don't have worry about that

Ty (14:51.544)
Looking at you, Quentin Solace game. Looking at you.

Gregory (14:53.814)
Right. So we are getting from what we can gather a raw un I don't want to say unhinged, but unchained. Yeah. Unfiltered bond as intended. And I am very excited for it.

Ty (15:07.041)
Unfiltered.

Ty (15:16.322)
We're We're getting bookbombs.

Gregory (15:19.444)
We are getting book bond. Yes, we are getting book bond.

Ty (15:20.856)
For those of you that don't know that Bond started as a

Gregory (15:25.94)
Yes. So I'm very excited for it. That's May 27th, believe. May 27th, yes. With Forza Horizon 6, May 19th. I'm putting that on my wishlist for the reason you only stated, just because it's in Japan. Yeah. Like, I have an excuse to use my old steering wheel just to...

Uly (15:33.477)
May 27th.

Uly (15:44.849)
Not even gonna race, just drive around, that's the main goal.

Gregory (15:52.49)
just to drive around. got my little rig. The guy saw it. I put a picture of it, my little.

Uly (15:54.385)
This guy was posting pictures of like guys. I'm I'm ready like this

Gregory (15:58.207)
I'm ready. My little Mario Kart, I'm ready. But no, but.

Ty (16:00.185)
See.

The irony of none of us being racing game fans, but excited for Forza.

Gregory (16:07.894)
Right.

Exactly. Like, you know, all they had to do. And that's the thing. It seems like it's not just us. The excitement for Forza is for Forza 6 is like at an all time high across the board because it's in Japan. Like people are like, finally, finally, like this is what we wanted.

Uly (16:28.321)
I mean, Japan is on the rise of being one of the most, well, it is one of the most popular countries right now because a lot of us now have adult money and a lot of us grew up on anime and we're like, yeah, we're going because this is our childhood.

Gregory (16:43.946)
Yeah, get to get to heal that inner child and have that experience. And for those of us who've.

Uly (16:46.521)
Yep. Yeah, I can't own a house, but I can fly in Japan. I can fly to Japan.

Gregory (16:51.924)
Right. You know, like, you know, you and I, you like playing a game like this is a nostalgia kick. Yeah. You get to sit there and be like, I was there.

Uly (16:58.297)
Yeah, especially exactly. I was there. I've seen that and I'm going again and again.

Ty (17:03.555)
Mm.

Gregory (17:06.42)
Yeah. And again, but.

Uly (17:09.381)
But for the James Bond, the one thing I'm interested in is like, it's supposed to well, from looks of it, it's supposed to be like the first version of James Bond, like how he started into it.

Gregory (17:19.092)
Yes. Yeah.

Ty (17:19.758)
Yes, it's supposed to be first mission.

Uly (17:23.053)
Yes. So I'm excited to see like how they develop that kind of story. Cause we got hints of it in, well, for me, I got a lot more hints of it in skyfall. And I'm like, well, it would be interesting to see that kind of build up. And I do like their, the system they hinted is the license to kill system where it's like, you're not just going in guns blazing. Things have to happen for you to, go shooting.

Gregory (17:23.355)
Mm-hmm before he earned the double-o

Gregory (17:33.398)
Mm-hmm.

Ty (17:50.519)
And I absolutely love that because it's such a different take that they're putting on where it's not like, hey, because let's be real here. Most 007 games have been take, gun, aim, shoot with the exception of the old, wow, why did I just forget your name? Sean Connery games.

Uly (18:06.203)
shooting.

Gregory (18:17.143)
man.

Uly (18:17.679)
No, there's just a bitch slap button.

Ty (18:20.942)
The Connery games are the only ones where it was kind of like well every 007 had like a twist they tried to put like with Not Yeah, not golden eye. What was it called? The one where you actually played as golden eye

Uly (18:31.227)
The reactor had their own charm.

Uly (18:40.529)
Gregory (18:40.95)
rogue agent?

Ty (18:42.254)
Rogue Agent, yes. Like Rogue Agent, you had the golden eye. The golden eye too, you had Daniel Craig's version of James Bond and you had different unique weapons to it. Everyone has a spin behind it, but.

Gregory (18:58.836)
Mm-hmm.

Ty (19:04.672)
It usually doesn't work in their favor. I don't know why.

Gregory (19:08.322)
I think it comes back to they were held down by movie licensing rights. They couldn't deviate from what those particular bonds would do in the movies. And that's why Rogue Agent was able to deviate was because you weren't playing as bond. You were playing as a rival to bonds. So they were able to do more with that game.

Ty (19:12.942)
Yeah.

Gregory (19:31.681)
But we were in that era where everyone wanted to be the hero and not the villain, which is why Rogue Agent didn't do as good. But now today, people look back at Rojane like maybe we were too harsh to you. It was actually pretty good. And I loved Rogue Agent. I like Rojane because of that. It was such a good game, such a good game. But also for those of you on the steam front, Subnautica, the most wishlisted

Ty (19:41.1)
This was kinda dope!

Yeah.

Ty (19:48.482)
Same.

Gregory (20:00.906)
game right now, it's coming into early access on the 14th. And yeah, you know, but here's the thing. I am surprised I have never played the Subnautica's not because I'm not interested in the concept because obviously I love games like that, like No Man's Sky and Satisfactory. And yeah, it's still water because I'm like.

Uly (20:07.024)
deserved.

Ty (20:09.293)
there.

Uly (20:20.165)
He's afraid of water.

Ty (20:24.898)
Water kills you. That's what he's.

Gregory (20:26.23)
And in Subnautica it can because I know about the Leviathan's so

Uly (20:29.303)
And the streets come from this motherfucker right here.

Ty (20:33.398)
Which is ironic because his past job.

Uly (20:37.305)
His history? Yeah.

Gregory (20:39.44)
Exactly. And I'm like, I think I've had enough water to last me the rest of my life. Yeah, I've seen enough. It's like being on a cruise. I no longer see the appeal.

Ty (20:44.716)
lifetime.

You know what?

No, I don't want to go on a cruise because everybody's dying on them.

Uly (20:50.673)
I've never seen the appeal in Cruz.

Gregory (20:54.44)
Yeah, we don't need to talk about that. It's so bad. Right. But subnautica dropping on the 14th. So for those of you guys who are eager to deep dive back into the sea, have had it.

Uly (20:57.809)
The cruise just seems terrible. Who's relaxing on a cruise?

Ty (20:57.826)
Besides the point.

Ty (21:14.936)
I ain't deep diving for shit.

Gregory (21:16.808)
Yeah, yeah, I might. I will probably eventually get the Subnautica games. And that's about it. Like, you know, passively, one of those games I play just to kind of like to be able to say I've played it and at least get the experience. Because like I said, I've watched I've watched streamers play it I don't think it's a bad game from what I've seen. It actually looks very interesting. And I like games with

Ty (21:24.29)
You're on dip a toe.

Gregory (21:46.389)
very detailed menu systems. That's something me and my best friend Tristan have in common. We love inventory based games. So I was like, okay, but dang it, if it had to be in the deep, deep freaking dark sea. why? why?

Ty (21:48.686)
Mm-hmm.

Ty (22:03.084)
because there is more hidden in the ocean than there is in space.

Gregory (22:09.226)
Yeah. Yeah. yeah. Yeah. I was going to say, I mean, yeah, if you got a billion year old black hole up there, there's a reason there's.

Uly (22:09.381)
Phoenix a. We were talking about that.

Uly (22:21.297)
I'm gonna tell you a funny little thing real quick. was I've stumbled upon learning about this thing called Phoenix a which is the largest black hole we discovered right I Asked Daniel have you heard of Phoenix a and this guy just responds. Yeah, my girlfriend's parents lives an hour away from there

Ty (22:30.285)
Mm-hmm.

Gregory (22:39.114)
His girlfriend's parents live an hour away from the oldest black hole in the universe.

Ty (22:41.368)
Phoenix, Arizona? Was he thinking you've met Phoenix, Arizona?

Uly (22:44.876)
Be honest, you can have it in Phoenix, Arizona.

Gregory (22:49.344)
I will say to be fair to him, he probably had just gotten off work. He works really crazy hours. The look of disappointment on Ty's face right now speaks volumes.

Uly (22:51.032)
You

Uly (22:55.345)
I was like, aw dude.

Uly (23:01.411)
I hope you listen to this and hear this story.

Ty (23:02.54)
Have you ever heard of Phoenix, Arizona?

You know, only a major metropolitan city and probably like the biggest city in Arizona. You know, so many things happened in Phoenix, Arizona. Have you ever heard of it? Ever? Not once?

Uly (23:16.369)
You

Gregory (23:19.72)
Yeah, you know, he was so proud. You could tell he was probably really proud of his response. Yeah.

Uly (23:19.918)
It's like a...

Uly (23:24.913)
I so happy, I was laughing, I was like I had a shit day at work and that made me laugh.

Gregory (23:32.151)
Daniel, Daniel being Daniel. Game releases. Well, I mean, for the most part, those are like the highlights. I mean, just to rattle off a few others for, you know, anyone that's familiar with them, we've got dead as disco on May 5th outbound on May 11th, Paralives on May 25th shift at midnight on May 28th. But yeah, we pretty much covered the ones we're looking forward to and what I personally think from.

Uly (23:33.009)
Um, uh, but game releases 007, 007 Forza.

Ty (23:34.343)
then...

Ty (23:44.728)
the month.

Gregory (24:00.279)
our lists are the big highlights for May. So.

Uly (24:04.837)
You know, what's weird about our game list is that the more we go into this new era of gaming, the less games we're actually going to buy.

Gregory (24:14.698)
Yeah, especially as everything goes mostly digital.

Ty (24:15.702)
It is crazy because we're going back into that weird gaming renaissance. Where things are just...

Uly (24:20.549)
Yep. And it's still like.

Uly (24:25.409)
It's...

Gregory (24:25.526)
It's a great and terrible time to be a gamer right now.

Ty (24:29.59)
It is. It is.

Uly (24:30.241)
It is, it's terrible.

Gregory (24:33.425)
But moving on to our next topic, this is going to be a brief one. I got to say there's no way Valve did not see this happening. I think Valve tries to be a Nintendo. And for anyone that doesn't know, I believe it was May 4th, the steam controller officially launched $100. So not crazy. And they're sold out, completely sold out. Yeah. And I'm like.

Ty (24:52.929)
No.

in 30 minutes.

Gregory (25:00.448)
Valve, you didn't see that coming? Do you not remember the Steam Deck? And I will say two things. This doesn't, if Valve was woefully underprepared, this does not bow well for the Steam Machine when it launches. This is not a good start. And the fact that the controller sold out, which doesn't surprise me, but I will say this proves two things I've thought that...

Ty (25:14.135)
Nah, not really.

Gregory (25:29.408)
console players have always wanted a way to play PC games, but they needed a controller because it's comfortable. And that PC players have also wanted a controller despite pretty much preferring to be on PC. Yeah. So I'm just saying like, know, Valve, you gotta get your shit together.

Ty (25:44.694)
Massive keyboard superiority!

Uly (25:55.322)
Also, we got to take account the scalpers. We're also in a very terrible time for scalpers. Scalp the scalpers.

Gregory (25:58.323)
absolutely. Yeah, absolutely. You know that scalpers scooped up those. Yeah, the scalpers. Yeah, you know the scalpers snuck in there, which once again, I say does not build well for the steam machine unless they put something in place to or something. Hey, do do what Nintendo's doing with Pokemon.

Ty (26:05.326)
Scalpers are the worst.

Uly (26:16.357)
You have to have a Steam account, unfortunately, something like that.

Ty (26:20.578)
that that is not gonna work because it's easy to get a fucking steam account

Gregory (26:26.39)
Have them take a quiz. That's what Nintendo's doing.

Uly (26:28.465)
How many games are in your steam account only 20 pathetic you need a hundred

Gregory (26:33.13)
Pathetic.

Ty (26:34.766)
All right, first off, some of us don't play PC games like that. Like I can tell you the last Steam game I bought, mostly are gonna look at me like, what?

Gregory (26:36.926)
Ha ha ha ha!

Gregory (26:48.323)
You disappoint me.

Uly (26:48.963)
Some of us also go on the steam, you know, the steam sales, like you'll see hundreds of games for like less than 10 bucks. And you don't, you don't just be like, you know what? Might not play, but I'll pick it up instead of $60. 10 bucks. Yeah.

Ty (26:50.616)
Breath of Fire 4, thank you very much. It's a classic.

Ty (27:03.296)
No, it's just because I don't get on my laptop enough. That's only a zy.

Uly (27:07.557)
to play games.

Gregory (27:09.494)
I've, you know, because I have a gaming PC, I've been sucked into that, hey, this game is $5, why not? And then just add it to my already ridiculous library.

Uly (27:23.631)
Not to mention the games I buy them.

Gregory (27:26.88)
We won't talk about the games Yuli buys us.

Ty (27:29.518)
Fuck that, will. Yeah, I'm kidding, I'm kidding, I'm kidding, I'm kidding. Y'all don't need that trauma.

Uly (27:29.627)
They're gag games. They're gag games.

Gregory (27:34.814)
We, Uly does, Uly gives us enough drama.

Uly (27:37.263)
I think I gave Daniel's kids trauma because they got in.

Gregory (27:40.195)
You did. You really did.

Ty (27:43.316)
she was here so I could say it.

Uly (27:45.585)
you

Gregory (27:46.751)
That's for a Patreon podcast conversation. If you guys want to know more about that, subscribe to our Patreon. You want to know more about that story. But yeah, no, Valve and I feel Valve are stretching themselves too thin right now. They're doing too much.

Ty (27:55.32)
Do

Uly (28:05.777)
I don't think so.

Ty (28:07.554)
Valve has been trying to get that in that marketplace of we are an independent gaming company for the better part of 10 years. every time they get really close to it, something happens, whether it's the lawsuit with Epic or just something with their interface. Something always happens and it blocks them.

Gregory (28:15.786)
Mm-hmm.

Ty (28:37.056)
So the console being released might be that little nudge to get them over, because it's a beautiful looking machine. Do not get me wrong, and everything sounds amazing with it. Problem is everything sounds amazing with it. And like part of me is super excited to have this machine and be like, hey, yeah, look what I got. And the other part of me is like, you sound like a

fucking Dreamcast. And I love the Dreamcast, and that is the problem. You sound like the fucking Dreamcast. You're way ahead of your time. And because you're way ahead of your time, no one's gonna fuck with you.

Gregory (29:08.137)
Yeah.

Gregory (29:22.452)
Yeah. And if they're already having supply issues, that's only going to hurt them more. And they're already working on a steam deck too, which I don't think is necessary right now. I'm like, hey, get the steam machine out first. Make sure you can supply the steam machine to everyone who wants one. Get your steam controllers out. Make sure that same thing and get everything you've already got on the table off the table first.

Ty (29:27.214)
Mm-hmm.

Gregory (29:49.493)
before you add something else, because now you put everyone's steam deck to his comment. And it's like, OK, guys, you're doing too much too soon. Like some people are still not able to get their hands on a steam deck one. You're right. So I'm like, clear your plate first. Make sure that you can. I'm so glad I got my own idea. I am. But now you're telling me you're going to put a second one out there. I'm like, look, get.

Ty (30:02.156)
Some people can barely even find it.

Uly (30:07.825)
Yeah, hard to find.

Gregory (30:17.61)
get the steam machine out first and make sure that it's everything you've promised and that we're good. Yeah. But anyway, what are your guys' thoughts on that? Do you think Valve is doing too much? Do think they're not doing enough? Did you get lucky and get your hands on the steam controller? We would love to hear your thoughts on it, as they say. I've been hearing good reviews of Ford, so.

Ty (30:22.537)
Ninsum, yeah.

Uly (30:38.417)
And if you're a scalper, sell it online for double the price, eat a bag of dicks.

Ty (30:38.708)
And it's thick.

Gregory (30:42.772)
Yes, yes, yes. So next thing, real quick thought here, I just want to know what your guys thoughts are on. Remake fatigue and Assassin's Creed Black Flag, Re-synced, what do you guys think?

Ty (30:45.14)
A book cave!

Uly (31:00.217)
Okay, hold up. me, let me, let me, I'm going to say Black Flag has always been on my list for a remake. It is, look, I will say this. It's probably not the best Assassin's Creed game, but it's the best goddamn pirate game we have. No, no, no. I'm saying this. The Assassin's part, the Creed part has always been put second in that game to me. Like I don't need that part in that game. I just want to be a pirate.

Ty (31:01.152)
Okay, those are two different things.

Gregory (31:30.432)
Hi.

Ty (31:33.358)
So I'll say this, when it comes to Assassin's Creed, not to go deep down into a rabbit hole, Assassin's Creed, the Assassin's Creed, the Assassin part of the Assassin's Creed games really hasn't been in the forefront of games with the exception of Origins since number two.

Uly (31:53.585)
Yeah, I agree.

Ty (31:54.924)
Number three.

Yeah, you played an assassin, but like, It was more like, look at me being an Indian during the American Revolution and gonna make America America. Right. Black flag, pound for pound. If, is in most people that are Assassin's Creed fans, top three.

Gregory (32:11.382)
Yeah.

Ty (32:26.912)
And usually it's not 3 or 2.

The rare exception is, usually you'll hear people argue about origins versus Black Flag, one of those two. Usually. Origins, Black Flag, and number two, or the top three that most people won't.

Gregory (32:42.666)
Yeah.

Gregory (32:49.803)
I love Origins. I'm an Origins fan.

Ty (32:52.974)
Those are usually the three people who are like, ooh, shit, over, which is kind of ironic because it's two, four and six. Kind of ironic on that one, but.

Gregory (32:57.078)
Mm-hmm.

Gregory (33:05.108)
Yeah.

Ty (33:07.65)
When you bring up remake fatigue, the reason I said this is two different topics is black flag. People have been begging for a black flag remake.

for however long, because Black Flag was a flagship game of the PS4. And they were like, this system, though beautiful, it is now dated. This game came out in 2013. We need updated graphics. We want to see how this game looks at peak power of a system, not you trying to break the system in. So that's why I'm here. Excuse me. That is why I say,

Gregory (33:45.334)
Mm-hmm.

Ty (33:49.717)
This is a different topic in just overall, because again, Black Flag was a game that people have been begging to be remade probably two years after the game got released. They're like, hey, y'all should update this because now y'all have more power behind the system. Now y'all know how to use the system. hey, y'all just released PS5. Remake Black Flag so that we can see how it plays now. Right? People have wanted to see that polished. Now, when it comes to remake fatigue,

Cool. 100 % I got you on that, right? Because as biased as this is about the sound, as fast as people said they wanted black flag, people were pissed the hell off over the last of us.

Ty (34:37.012)
Absolutely pissed. And the last of us got a remake before Black Flag did and those games came out relatively at the same time.

Gregory (34:47.306)
Now did they call The Last of Us Part 1 a remake or remaster? I'm pretty sure, yeah, I'm pretty sure is what about to say. It's just pretty much tomato tomato, but I-

Ty (34:52.61)
Tomatoes amado?

Uly (34:53.699)
Did they're both kind of the same thing I? Think for the last of us the thing was it's that On top of one getting its remaster remake. It was also like the third version that we got

Gregory (35:06.324)
That's what did it. That's what did it.

Ty (35:07.352)
that.

Uly (35:08.689)
Because we also had like the upgraded edition back when the PS5 was out. And then they were like, yeah, we're just going to remaster it. It's like, you just upgraded it. You just made me pay 10 bucks for an upgrade. Well, you want me to pay. Now you're doing this. Well, same with two. Two got like a remake or a remaster or something like that. You got an updated version. Yeah, it's like, why do we need that? The game was already good enough. What's going on?

Ty (35:12.323)
Mm-hmm.

Ty (35:20.608)
And now you're doing this.

Gregory (35:22.005)
Yeah.

Ty (35:27.566)
Five years after 2 came out. Yeah.

Gregory (35:27.934)
Yeah. Yeah.

Ty (35:35.18)
and it's still pretty like graphically fresh. So the problem is the games that are getting these remasters and remates are not the games people are really worried about seeing, right? I can tell you right now, if somebody said right now, Infamous is gonna get a remaster.

Uly (35:37.923)
Yeah.

Gregory (35:50.614)
Mm-hmm.

Ty (35:59.929)
Did you see you least face line up?

Uly (36:02.874)
Man.

Ty (36:05.036)
Right? If somebody right now said that...

Uly (36:09.435)
Def Jam Battle for New York.

Ty (36:11.921)
yeah, most people will shit their drawers.

Gregory (36:13.846)
Well, I'll give you one that's in the works, Ocarina of Time.

Uly (36:17.957)
Yep.

Ty (36:19.308)
Yeah, like there's games where if we found out they're getting a remaster right now, people would drop everything and be like, me, right? And there's games where it's just like, let me get a rem, a we're doing a remaster. And it's like, that's cool.

Gregory (36:30.26)
Yeah. Twilight Princess.

Gregory (36:40.672)
Yeah.

Ty (36:40.766)
I liked it, right? If you told me right now, right this fucking second, right? Hey, they got a remaster for, huh, what's the name? Huh?

Uly (36:52.657)
Godhand. it? What was that? What was that game we were talking about like way back? Godhand?

Gregory (36:57.716)
Godhand.

Ty (36:58.3)
Godhand, no, I would sell my soul to Capcom for that. I am trying to think of something mediocre that I like, if it came out with a remaster, I'd be like, this is cool. I'm not going out of my way for this.

Uly (37:05.945)
mediocre?

Uly (37:11.853)
Alright, me look at my list real quick. There's some games.

Gregory (37:13.507)
man, mediocre.

Ty (37:18.51)
It could be any system. Dealers' shorts. Huh? What?

Uly (37:20.123)
Dead Rising 3 Dead Rising 3 Not just because it's a Dead Rising game It's because it's the one I'm looking at my game list right now And it's one of the ones where I like if they did that one I'd be like okay, no Dead Rising 2 they remade Dead Rising the first one. I'm like okay, like Yeah, wasn't a bad game but Yeah, I like the Dead Rising I have all of them so I like the games it's just they don't I don't some of them they're

Gregory (37:22.208)
Yeah, yeah, yeah dev rising three was a little

Ty (37:32.942)
in

Ty (37:38.658)
wasn't a bad game, you're just like, I don't really care for this, right?

Uly (37:49.613)
Oldness is their charm. Others is like, I just want this in our time.

Ty (37:51.98)
Yes.

Ty (37:56.227)
Hell, I'ma sound blasphemous for saying this, right? And this is what I mean by the remake remaster fatigue versus I'm cool with it. Y'all gonna kill me, I don't care. The God of War remaster, cool. Of the Olympus trilogy, cool. It's just there for me. Cool. The most excited part I am about that is the fact that TC Carson is coming back to play Kratos. That's it.

Uly (38:15.971)
No. Yeah. No.

Gregory (38:25.28)
That's it. Actually, that's it for me too.

Uly (38:27.313)
The one thing I'm worried about is they'll take away the the bang bang mini game.

Ty (38:27.32)
It's like...

Gregory (38:31.764)
I was thinking, I said, if you Lisa's the bang bang mini.

Uly (38:35.237)
Look, if they remove that, I'm like, I have the old ones, I'll play those.

Gregory (38:43.53)
and they already had HD remasters.

Uly (38:45.657)
Yeah, they already got their HD remasters, which are great, still.

Ty (38:45.966)
Yeah

Ty (38:50.814)
Another one. Dead Rising. Cool. You got a remaster. The only reason I was kind of excited for that remaster is, hey, if the original dev team would have got a piece of the pie. But other than that,

Uly (39:08.901)
Saints Row any of the Saints Row games if they got a remaster Saints Row one probably be good two and three

Gregory (39:10.646)
like how Youly put Dead Rising in your head.

Gregory (39:19.562)
Well, Saints Row tried to redefine itself and that didn't work. Yeah.

Ty (39:19.651)
One I wouldn't care for, two would be the one I would actually want.

Uly (39:22.597)
would be the one that, okay, I can see that.

Ty (39:25.774)
One is the one I wouldn't care for. 2,000 % would want.

Gregory (39:29.45)
Yeah, one was basically a GTA carbon copy. Two is when they went for their own identity. Yeah.

Uly (39:33.393)
2 was the word got its own foot. They did. They gave us a three remaster, which I'm like, cool, but it still kind of looks the same.

Ty (39:33.826)
Mm-hmm.

Ty (39:42.167)
Yeah, you're just kinda like, Like there's certain games where it's just like, hey, if you remaster it, I might pick it up, I might not. I really don't give a shit. But there's other games where it's just like, you're getting a remaster? let them say Power Stones getting remastered. Y'all won't hear from me. That would be.

Gregory (39:51.83)
Yeah.

Gregory (40:03.636)
I mean, they're digging into the treasure trove of a lot of classic games finally. So and that's because it's a lot of our generation that are stepping up into lead roles in the dev studios. So we're bringing the games we grew up with back.

Ty (40:08.014)
Yeah, I know.

Uly (40:20.293)
Well, look at Oblivion.

Gregory (40:23.166)
Yeah. But that's a, but you know what? Oblivion made sense because oblivion, a lot of people will be, which is they keep replaying oblivion. They forget how old oblivion actually is. Yeah. Oblivion actually was old. Yeah.

Uly (40:23.697)
Yeah, it did good. It did good.

Ty (40:24.385)
Another example of...

Uly (40:34.234)
Yeah.

Ty (40:34.99)
20 years, at least.

Uly (40:38.801)
Yeah, but oblivion got the re remaster. It deserves. I didn't get I didn't see that much love for it like me and my friends played it and nobody like, I don't know. Did you play it? Did any of you buy? OK, great.

Gregory (40:42.667)
Yeah.

Gregory (40:49.926)
I loved it. I've got like three characters on there.

Ty (40:53.495)
I am probably the worst person to ask this to, because I am not an Oblivion fan.

Gregory (40:59.582)
Now, what killed it though for Oblivion was how many times they kept redoing Skyrim.

Uly (41:04.963)
Yeah. And you know, they announced the fallout remake of new Vegas remake and we all, we all wet our pants. Cause that's the one they want. And it's funny that Bethesda is ones like we hate that one because it wasn't made by us. We have, have make a better game then.

Ty (41:05.39)
That's probably what it was for me.

Gregory (41:12.5)
Yeah.

Ty (41:13.422)
Mm-hmm.

Gregory (41:20.246)
You just let him make a better game. Make a better game.

Uly (41:23.087)
They made that in a year! Tony Stark made that in a cave! With a box of scraps! And you guys have everything! And you gave us fucking Starfield! Sorry, I just-

Gregory (41:33.506)
my gosh.

Ty (41:34.732)
Yeah, I'm not gonna give them, I'm not gonna, no strikes, no strikes today.

Gregory (41:38.623)
Yeah. Yeah, I will wrap it up. say that the whole premise of the question is because we're in the era where a lot of things are getting remakes, not even just in gaming, just across the board. Everything's getting remade, remastered, remade, remastered. So at some point, I know there's gamers out there that are feeling exhausted by what might feel like a lack of

Uly (41:39.505)
I'm done, I'm done. Me, I have beef with Bethesda.

Gregory (42:04.018)
ingenuity and fresh ideas. And at the same time, a lot of people aren't willing to give new things a chance, new games, new IPs. And then every now and then you have a gem like Pragmata that comes out and people like, like glue, they stick to it, they love it. And they're like,

Uly (42:19.727)
Well, you might as well the other one where it's like it got its love. It deserves its love. But there's also that weird set of fucking people that just hate on it for the weird people that are into it. It's like, all right, look, this is a new game. This is something entirely new, entirely different. It was a fresh team, too, from Capcom. It was a new team. They just had some like veteran leaders and it's a fucking great game. But it's it's as much as it's getting all the love it deserves, it's getting all the hate that it

Gregory (42:30.101)
Yeah.

Ty (42:43.115)
It really is.

Uly (42:49.571)
It's dumb. It doesn't deserve this. Like y'all take me and Ty. No, we tie. me a message. And I'm like, yup. Yup.

Gregory (43:00.34)
It's a phenomenal game. I haven't finished it yet, but I loved it so far. I'm taking my my time with it also because I'm caught up in a lot of other games right now as well. I've been revisiting some of my some of my Pokemon games because as much as people hate Pokemon champions, I don't see an issue with it.

Ty (43:04.428)
Nah, I'm saying shit.

Uly (43:13.137)
Christian Milk 3.

Ty (43:17.144)
huh.

Uly (43:22.149)
know what? As much as people hated Pokemon Legends ZA, I'm into it.

Ty (43:23.342)
Because you're a Pokemon fan, To be fair, you're a Pokemon fan.

Gregory (43:25.3)
Yeah. Yeah. So I'm like, yeah, maybe I'm biased to it. I don't know. But anyway, that's all the time we've got for this episode. We would love to hear your guys' thoughts. What do you think about GTA? What games are you looking to play this month before the month wraps up? And are you suffering from remake exhaustion? Let us know. Sound off in the comments. You really did.

Ty (44:34.605)
He really did. Tell people to touch grass.

Uly (44:35.345)
You really did.
